How do I buy a Costume from you?
Please see CONTACT page for details. We also sell Ready-To-Wear costumes occasionally over on our Etsy or The Dealers Den Stores.
What do you make?
We make both premade Ready-to-Wear Fursuits and fully bespoke commission Fursuits. In addition to Fursuits we also occasionally make Jewellery, EGL Fashion, Historical Dress, BJD and Artdolls. Things are varied here in the workshop!
What is a DTD?
A DTD is a Duct Tape Dummy. A very important component in building your creature! In order to make the fit just right We work from a dummy model of yourself. You will need to supply this BEFORE we start work on your order. You can view our guide for making one here.
Head or Basic Partial Costumes do not require a DTD.
How long does it take?
Creatures require a lot of time to make, if you have a deadline in mind be sure to include that in the contact form/email! Please note we do not accept convention deadlines. While we will always endeavour to meet estimated completion, Missrars Creatures is a one woman show and for health reasons it may not always be possible to meet strict dates.
A Rush Fee may be charged in the event of a sooner deadline.
How much is a Premade Fursuit??
A Premade is our basic starting price. Please see our Pricelist here.
This lets you get a complex design without additional charges. Please note that Premade heads usually have experimental techniques, this does not make them inferior quality, just different from my standard practice. If you want additional electronics – where possible – these are subject to an additional fee.
How much is an Artistic Freedom Fursuit?
Artistic Freedom fursuit are Basic Cost. Please see our Pricelist here.
For regular Artistic Freedom commissions, the process works very similar to the regular commission process. We can either take a list of your preferred species and colours or build it with complete freedom for design and colour. You can specify Realistic or Kemono or ‘Surprise Me!’. Artistic Freedom costumes are another chance to get something unique without the hefty tag. You will be able to see and approve each stage. You will be charged a design fee for full reference art in addition to the Basic Cost.
‘Surprise Me!’ option means you will not see the suit until it’s in your hands, no WIPs or design approval will be sent. You will be informed of major stages as they are reached, e.g. design decided, base constructed, fur-ready, patterning, cutting, furred, complete. If you like a very personal experience, the ‘Surprise Me!’ option may not be the right fit for you.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we are pleased to confirm that we offer worldwide shipping! Please note that we are unable to deliver to some countries and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Where do you ship from?
We ship all of our orders from the Scotland (UK), where our workshop is based.
Will I have to pay Customs/Shipping?
All orders are shipped fully insured and securely package. UK orders include free shipping as we are based here.
INTERNATIONAL ORDERS will be charged shipping on completion. It’s not possible to estimate how much this will be as it is based on weight and every costume is different. International orders are subject to customs fees. Due to the high value of these costumes, it is very likely be charged. All EU orders as of late have been charged VAT/Customs. Please ensure you budget accordingly for these additional costs as they will not be paid by Missrars Creatures.
It is advisable to put an additional 50% of your Order Value + Shipping aside in the event you do get charged customs fees.
PLEASE NOTE: We will not mark as ‘Gift’, nor doctor the value of an order to reduce charges. To do so is Customs Fraud and Tax Evasion is a crime. It would result in a sizable fine and/or jail time for Missrars Creatures. As much as we value our clients, tax evasion is a crime.
If you cannot afford to pay for your customs fees, buying a fursuit from an international maker is not advised. Fursuits are amazing and fun to perform in but they are LUXURY ITEMS and basic necessities should take priority BEFORE attempting to buy/commission one.
Can I pick-up in person/have my suit delivered elsewhere?
Here at Missrars Studios we do not accept in person pick-ups at our workshop. We will never meet a client in person in a public place to deliver an order either. E.g. A coffee shop/shopping district, etc.
In the event you are attending a convention we are participating as Vendors. Orders can be picked at our Dealers Den table. Currently we attend Confuzzled and Scotiacon.
I don’t like email, can I contact you another way?
If you purchased one of our PDF Patterns you should contact us via the native message system on our Etsy Store. For Premade/Ready-To-Wear purchases made on The Dealers Den, you should contact us via the native message system there.
For offical record purposes, all commuications regarding commissions should be sent via Email. These act as a legally binding contract. Any major changes to your commission must be sumerised and agreed to in email format. If reaching out to us for the first time about a commission/quote, please fill out the form on our CONTACT page and will respond via email promptly. Don’t forget to read our Terms & Conditions prior to doing so.
For equiries about purchasing Premade or Ready-To-Wear costumes that feature outwith Etsy/The Dealers Den, these should be made in email form for the above reasons.
Updates will be provided via our Telegram Update Channel and email. Occasionally we will post public updates via our social media accounts. If you do not wish updates to be shown on social media, please state so prior to payment.
